Recent Changes

Wikispaces- I had never heard of wikispaces before and I am glad that we were able to make one in this class so that I know the basics so that I can one day make one for my own classroom. I will use many of the tips and add-ons that we discussed in this class.

Not only is it important for me to be independently fluent in technology but also in a way that I am able to demonstrate and teach these current forms of technology to my students. These students probably know so much about technology from using the internet at home and cell phones and I think that as teachers it is important to teach them how to use these technological outlets for educational purposes.
I do not think that I would change my long term goals at all because I still want to focus on using as much technology as possible in my classroom. I have also learned that I want to have a wide variety of technology and I feel like I have broadened my view of those resources. Other than the smartboard, which I am sure I will use daily, but also computers, computer games, document camera, iMovie, and podcasts.
In an interview for my first teaching job I will be proud to say that I am well experienced in many different types of technology and that is something that could be used to help in my hiring. I know that the schools that I have worked in are wanting their teachers to use as much as possible and I think that because I do know technology well that would be attractive to future employers. When I am a teacher I want to show my students that I am not going to be boring and make them memorize facts from a book but rather have them interacting with me through many different forms of technology.

OneOne of my prepared and excited to use this application within my own classroom. I also feel like I extended my knowledge of social media sites and now better ways in which to implement them. I have always been a big fan of twitter and blogging but I now know that those aren't always the best way to communicate with a classroom because it is not as interactive as a Wikispace can be.
